Renew (Do Not Conform) is one of the earliest songs where I really started exploring the theme of transformation and the call to resist the world and pursue the renewal that only God can bring. Romans 12:2 has always hit me with force, and this track became my way of turning that conviction into a worship-metal anthem.
This song blends heaviness, melody, and Scripture into a declaration:
I donβt want the world to shape me; I want God to transform me.
Below, Iβll walk through the meaning, the Scriptures that inspired it, and what it meant to me personally when I created it.

Scripture Inspiration
Primary Scripture:
Romans 12:2 β βDo not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mindβ¦β
That verse is the heartbeat of this entire song and shows the resistance, the transformation, and the pursuit of Godβs will over the worldβs influence.
Supporting Scriptures:
- Ephesians 4:23β24 β βBe renewed in the spirit of your mindβ¦ put on the new self.β
- Colossians 3:10 β βThe new selfβ¦ being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its Creator.β
These passages helped shape the tone and message: a complete inward renewal β mind, soul, heart, and desire β through the Spirit of God.
Song Meaning
For me, Renew (Do Not Conform) captures the tension between the world trying to shape me and the Spirit calling me to something holy. Iβve always been gripped by the idea of not letting this sinful world write on my life and not letting it define who I am, what I think, or how I live.
This song is my declaration of surrender:
- I donβt want the worldβs mold.
- I want Godβs truth to shape me.
- I want continual renewal, daily transformation, and a heart that reflects Christ.
Lines like βDonβt let the world write on your pageβ and βYour love is the mold I craveβ reflect that internal fight and the longing to break free from worldly patterns and become more like Jesus.
This track came early in my All Glory Worshipcore journey, but it planted themes I know Iβll revisit again and again. Renewal is a lifelong process β and this song marks where that exploration began for me.
πΆ Lyrics
Do not conformβ¦
Yeahhh!
Oohhhβ¦
Donβt let the world write on your page,
donβt let it trap you in its cage!
Change the way your spirit sees,
break free from their worn-out keys!
Ohhh yeah!
Renew my mind, renew my soul!
Make me new, make me whole!
Ohhh!
Transform my heart, show me the way,
every night and every day!
Be not conformed, thatβs what I hear!
Shake the dust, let the truth draw near!
Prove the will thatβs good and true,
a perfect path made just for you!
Yeahhh!
Lift me up, let me shine!
Guide me to Your design!
Ohhh!
Renew my mind, renew my soul!
Make me new, make me whole!
Ohhh!
Transform my heart, show me the way,
every night and every day!
The patterns of this earth β they fade!
But Your love is the mold I crave!
A mind reborn, a soul revived!
In Your truth, I come alive!
Yeahhh!
Renew my mind, renew my soul!
Make me new, make me whole!
Ohhh!
Transform my heart, show me the way,
every night and every day!
Do not conformβ¦
βοΈ Worshipcore Sound & Production Notes
When I wrote this song, I wanted the sound to mirror the spiritual tug-of-war, like the pull of the world contrasted with the renewing power of God.
- The opening vocal line sets the resistance.
- The verses carry a warning tone… that the world is trying to shape you.
- The chorus rises into a plea for renewal, change, and transformation.
- The instrumentation blends groove, melody, and heaviness to create momentum, kinda like a soul breaking free.
- The repetition of βrenew my mindβ is intentional to show that transformation is daily, ongoing, and dependent on God.
Even though this was early in my sound development, I could hear the foundation of what All Glory Worshipcore would eventually become.
π Behind the Creation
This song came from a place of conviction. I was thinking a lot about how easy it is to let the world influence my thoughts, behavior, and worldview, especially in a culture that pushes Christians to compromise.
Romans 12:2 kept echoing through me.
I didnβt want to conform.
I wanted my life to be shaped by Scripture, not society.
Renew (Do Not Conform) was my way of taking that desire and turning it into worship. It also marked the beginning of me exploring what renewal really means in my own walk and I know Iβll write more songs about this theme.
Even in the early days, I felt like this track captured something essential about my message:
I want Christ to shape everything! Not this world.
