This track is a sonic journey through Romans Chapter 1.
The Declaration (Romans 1:16):
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”
The Diagnosis (Romans 1:18, 25):
The verses capture the progression of a society falling away from God:
- Suppressing the Truth: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness… of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”
- Idolatry: “For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.”
The Judgment (Romans 1:24, 26):
The scariest phrase in the chapter is repeated in the song’s themes: “Therefore God gave them over…” to the lusts of their hearts and degrading passions.

“Unashamed” is a confrontation.
I wrote this song because I see the “vile sin” of our times being promoted as virtue. Many people wonder how society can fall so far, so fast. Romans 1 gives the answer: when people refuse to honor God, He gives them over to a depraved mind.
This song represents:
- The Warning: Sin blinds the eyes and hardens the heart.
- The Reality: We are watching the “giving over” happen in real-time.
- The Solution: The Gospel is the only cure. We cannot be ashamed of the medicine that cures the sickness.

I have a deep passion for proclaiming the Gospel and calling out the sin of our times.
We see things today that are heartbreaking, like the senseless sin being paraded as identity. When I hear people question how they can be like that or think that way, I always point people to Romans 1 because it explains why this is happening.
But the chapter doesn’t end in despair; it points to the power of God.
