We often recite The Lord’s Prayer (also known as Our Father) out of habit. We say the words, but do we feel the weight of who we are speaking to?
“Our Father” is a Worshipcore interpretation of the prayer Jesus taught His disciples. I wrote this track to strip away the rote repetition and restore the reverence, awe, and desperate need that should define our prayer life.
When we cry out “Your Kingdom Come,” it is a surrender of our own will. And when we declare “Yours is the Power,” it is an anthem of absolute authority.

📖 Scripture Inspiration
The lyrics are a direct musical adaptation of Matthew 6:9–13, commonly known as The Lord’s Prayer.
The Model Prayer:
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven…'”
This structure guides the song:
- Adoration: “Hallowed be Your name.”
- Submission: “Your will be done.”
- Petition: “Give us this day our daily bread.”
- Confession: “Forgive us our debts.”
- Protection: “Deliver us from evil.”
- Doxology: “Yours is the kingdom, power, and glory.”
🔥 Song Meaning
“Our Father” is about Reverence and Alignment.
I wrote this song because I was convicted in my own private study, and through recent sermons at my church, that we often neglect the way Christ actually taught us to pray. We treat prayer like a wish list rather than a realignment of our hearts.
This song is a teaching tool. It reminds us that prayer begins with God’s glory (“Hallowed be Your name”) before it ever touches our needs.
⚔️ Worshipcore Sound & Production Notes
Musically, I wanted to balance the intimacy of talking to a Father with the sheer power of talking to the King of the Universe.

🎶 Lyrics
“Pray… then… in this way…”
OUR FATHER!!!
YEAHHH!
Our Father who is in heaven…
holy is Your name above all names.
I lift my voice, I bend my heart,
I need Your presence in every part.
Your kingdom come — let Your glory fall,
Your will be done — I surrender all.
Ohhh…
On earth as it is in heaven’s light,
let Your truth break through the night!
Your will be done…
Your will be done…
Our Father — draw me near!
In every joy, in every fear!
Your kingdom come, Your glory shine,
align my wandering heart with Yours, not mine!
Yeahhh!
Daily bread — my soul’s in need…
I trust in You to give, to lead!
Forgive my debts, my countless wrongs,
the sins I’ve carried far too long.
Teach me grace, teach me to forgive,
to show the mercy You freely give.
Ohhh yeahh!
Lead me not into the snares I fear,
deliver me, Lord — draw me near!
The evil one waits in the shadows I face,
but You are my refuge, You’re my grace!
Deliver us…
Deliver us!
Our Father — draw me near!
In every joy, in every fear!
Your kingdom come, Your glory shine,
align my wandering heart with Yours, not mine!
Yeahhh!
Daily bread — my soul’s in need…
I trust in You to give, to lead!
Yours is the kingdom!
Yours is the power!
Yours is the glory — forever and ever!
Ohhh!
Yours is the kingdom!
Yours is the power!
Yours is the glory — FOREVER!!!
YEAHHH!
Our Father — draw me near!
In every joy, in every fear!
Your kingdom come, Your glory shine,
align my wandering heart with Yours, not mine!
Yeahhh!
Daily bread — my soul’s in need…
I trust in You to give, to lead!
Forgive my sins, renew my soul…
In Jesus’ name — You make me whole!
“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever…”
AMEN!!!
🙏 Behind the Creation
This track was born out of conviction.
In my own walk, I realized I needed to return to the basics. Jesus didn’t just give us these words to memorize; He gave them to us as a pattern for living. My prayer is that as you listen to this, you don’t just hear a metal song, but you actually pray along with it.
